Social Skills groups

Does your child have difficulty in communicating with others?

We are currently taking bookings from parents of children under 5 who would like to improve their social skills. We will be running groups in both the school holidays and during term.

What these groups target:
This program will focus on:

  • Social Communication skills
  • Social problem solving skills
  • Negotiation skills and teamwork
  • Skills and experience understanding the emotions of self and others
  • Developing a sense of belonging and connectedness with peers

Funding:
Private clients are welcome. NDIS – Self and Plan Managed clients are able to participate in this program using their NDIS funding.

A deposit of $50 is taken with your booking, which is refunded if the group does not take place. The remainder of the fee for this group is made on the first day of the group, and can be made by cash or EFTPOS.

To measure the changes produced by the group, we will provide parents with a short series of questions about what they observe in their child both before and after the group sessions.

If your child isn't a client of Village Therapy, we will also need to conduct a 60 minute session with your child so we can meet the family and get to know the child's strengths and difficulties. This helps us plan the individual program within the group setting.

The cost of this 60 minute individual session is heavily discounted to $100.

Parents drop off and pick up children – please bring a snack.
